Meet Channah

If you’ve been around Mandi’s Makings for any length of time, you have probably heard about Legacy Blankets.  If not, a Legacy Blanket consists of granny squares made by people all around the world!

These blankets have been given to kids at risk for trafficking, kids battling cancer, NICU babies, kids in foster care, and moms with unplanned pregnancies.

And the creators who make these blankets are AMAZING!

Over the next few months we will be doing a blog series called “Meet the Legacy Blanket Team”.  I will be introducing you to the faces behind these beautiful blankets.  Our creators are always hard at work making squares and I am so excited to tell you all about them.

To start us off, I am so excited to introduce you to Channah!

This is us at Madison Antiques Market in Madison, FL.

Channah and I met 5 ago when Mandi’s Makings did our first Fancy Flea event in Madison to raise awareness for human trafficking.  God has kept us connected ever since and this past year she graciously stepped up to help lead our Legacy Blanket group alongside me.  She is such a gift to me and this team!  We are never called to do life alone, and having her by my side to follow God’s calling in this has been SO FUN!!

Here are a few fun facts about Channah so you can get to know her a little better:

Where are you located?

Madison, Florida (60 miles east of Tallahassee on the Georgia border)

When and how did you learn to crochet?

My Granny Louise crocheted/ knitted everyday of her life.  I was with her a lot and she taught me the chain when I was around 11-12.  I can remember making super long chains and braiding them.  She then taught me other stitches.  I made dish cloths.  LOL  It’s only been 5-6 years that I’ve actually learned to follow patterns and make “stuff”.  My mama, Patti Kern, and I swap ideas and patterns and create together now. ❤️

What do you enjoy crocheting the most?

I love crocheting dish rags the most, I think because that’s where I started.  I like hats and granny squares too.

What is your favorite yarn to use when crocheting?

I LOVE cotton yarn!

If you could visit any where in the world, where would you go?

I’ve always wanted to go to Australia, but I am quite happy at home or close to the water. 🌊

I’m so glad you got to know a little more about Channah!!

Stay tuned, because you will be meeting more of the team soon!
